"I only eat solid foods," Tom said overweeningly: I always wondered how my favorite cartoonmaker, Robert Clampett, got his gags past the censors. For Baby Bottleneck's painful confrontation betwen mama pig and suckling alligator, it turns out that he relied on the bait-and-switch tactic favored by live-action directors of the time:

  1. Original punchline had mama pig screaming "DON'T TOUCH THAT DIAL!"
  2. Punchline was duly excised.
  3. Rest of scene squeaked through.
